Christmas In Jacksonville
Good morning! Merry Christmas!
A bit early? Maybe. It's only early if you love the last-minute rush, crush of panicked sewing for the holidays. If you'd like to start working on a quilt you can enjoy in December, or a dozen blocks that can be turned into a dozen Christmas gifts... then it's not too early.
The first thing you need to know is that this is a Mystery Quilt. You won't see the finished setting until August but I think it's safe to say that if we're using Honey Buns to make our quilt, it might have a Log Cabin block or two.
We'll be sharing fourteen 9" finished Baltimore Album-inspired embroidery blocks designed by Susan Ache. Only thirteen of them are needed for the setting so there's a bonus block for a pillow, for the back, or to frame as artwork.
The pattern for this block is - Holiday Stitch-a-Long Block 1. I've named it Holiday Wreath.
Holiday Stitch-a-Long Requirements - everything you'll need to make the quilt. The quilt measures 60" x 60".
Susan is using Christmas Figs II by Fig Tree & Co. and Holliberry by Corey Yoder for her quilt, so she chose threads to match. The threads in her Aurifil Quaker Christmas Sampler Aurifloss box are perfect.
There are eight colors of Aurifloss used to stitch the blocks are:

We'll be back every Thursday with a new block. If you're on social media, please share your blocks using - #ModaHolidaySAL.
Happy Stitching!
